I think I have to look a month into the future before I can see a weekend devoid of plans...but then by the time it will actually get here something will pop up. Ay Carumba!
This was probably our busiest one in recent times. Friday night I went to a deaf event for my sign language class. I still have to sit down and write a paper on it. It was a good experience. I talked to a few people and got some information and insight into deaf culture.
Saturday morning we got up EARLY and drove down to Temecula to see our nephew Jonathan play soccer. It was quite a difference from the last time we watched him. He was so little back then. Now, at age 9, he was totally into the game. He was running after the ball and wasn't afraid to get hit by it. It was actually fun to watch. We spent the night at their house and spent some nice time together.
This morning we went to a pancake breakfast fundraiser for Jon's Cub Scout Troop. It was at Applebee's. It was really cute watching his troop as they bussed tables and refilled drinks.
Around 10:30 we started the drive back home so we could each get to our respective plans. I had our niece Lacy's baby shower to go to. We are very excited for baby Rachel to get here! And Joe now has another Godchild...Kiley! This makes number 8! That is counting 5 Baptisms, 2 confirmations, and 1 dedication. Is it weird that Joe is MY Godfather, too? Unfortunately timing wise they were too close so I couldn't go to the baptism, but I did go by and see them afterwards. I got there and someone said I was there and Kiley (who is 3) saw me and called my name and ran and jumped into my arms. Made my going there totally worth while.
Now it is finally time to go to bed. We are both exhausted. I still have lots of work to do for school. Oh, boy. Only three weeks left till summer vacation...
